Polly Pocket USED to be tiny. But apparently that was a choking hazard, so now she's like three inches tall.

I remember that they came in little tiny houses/boutiques and whatnot and it was what was so fun about them... it's a totally different toy now... it's more about dressing them and from what I've seen most of the playsets are pretty much junk.

The great with about American Girl dolls (or other similar dolls) is the endless gift possibilities with all the outfits and accessories.

My favourite part of christmas and birthdays was getting a new outfit for my Addy doll.

As a child, I pretty much only asked for horse books and Breyer horses (or any brand of model horse...I didn't care if it was She-Ra's horse, as long as it was a horse. lol).

I've really tried to get toys for my boys that will last and that they will enjoy. They are 6, 4, & 2 now, and the older two actually have their "likes" down pat. They are soooo into Monster Jam, and we already have a huge collection of the model monster trucks. As there are 3 sizes, that just means three times the collection! lol! But they play soooo much with them. I love watching them do a hundred different things with those trucks. We've already picked up three in each size so the boys will each get one new one in each size.

They are also into tractors and construction equipment, especially John Deere stuff. They have some items, but I'll be getting them a few more pieces, along with some good JD tractor kids books.

They also LOVE building with blocks and whatnot, and I think Cole is outgrowing the large Megablocks, so I'm getting a tub of regular-sized Legos.

I'm really not sure what else they'll get. Cole is into Angry Birds (must be a kid thing, because I don't get it at all), so I'll probably get him a throw pillow or something. Carson is kinda into Spiderman, but moreso because my 6 1/2-yr-old nephew is. He'll probably get a small Spiderman action figure toy or something. I have no real clue yet what to get Cooper.

They are each getting a big present this year, and that's because I've been saving up (thank you, Thirty-One! :D ). Cole and Carson will each get the LeapPad 2, and Cooper is getting a much-cheaper learning school bus thing. Since Cole has lots of doctor's appointments and therapy visits and whatnot, I really need something handheld for the boys to have to keep them preoccupied.

We are also "adopting" a family this year at Cole's insistence. Cole came to me crying one night a few weeks ago, because he felt bad for the other boys and girls that "don't have much toys or happy things" (his words). So we're going to be putting together a meal basket, and I'm letting the boys pick out some toys to give to the kids (family has 2 boys, and my boys are SOOOO excited to introduce them to Monster Jam monster trucks. LOL).
