Sorry, Romney.... but ethical breeders don't advertize through newspapers, the internet , etc. They breed when they have awaiting list and some people wait a year or more. How about finding homes for those 100s of dogs that need them.? you're only inviting back yard breeders.

I tend to agree that any breeders will be likely to sign up for such a site, but I disagree that good breeders don't advertize on Internet. People interested in puppies don't necessarily go to dog shows, and it's the best way of getting to know them. Also, because a breeder doesn't have a waiting list doesn't mean that he's not making sure that the parents are excellent breeders etc... I could probably give you a list of sites of good breeders who have an Internet site listed in one of the breeders websites.

Almost every state has a breed club for each type of breeds. Contact these clubs and ask about coming litters.

Usually they have the adresses on their website. It's what I meant when I said that even ethical breeders advertize.

I tend to ask ... why do ethical breeders need to list their dogs on your site. I'm not getting picky or anything, but you do have to ask yourself????

You have a part where if you were a buyer you could select that you want to search for puppies with "champion bloodlines"....sorry, but champion bloodlines don't mean anything, and a LOT of UNETHICAL breeders advertise that their dogs have champion bloodlines. What you want to ask is...Were the parents champions and were they health tested for genetic dissorders? Who cares if a puppy has a champion in it's pedigree from 20 years ago, that does not mean that same quality will pass down unless it was protected by only breeding champions produced by that champion and so on...

All that aside, you should really put a spot for the breed as well in the listing.

Yes, Breeding Kennels do advertise on line under their Kennel name....I for one would not go to a middle man , which you would be.

Sorry you feel that way. I am offering free online advertising to ethical breeders, you can write you kennel name in the description if you like.

I agree with the comments about bloodlines and having the breed on listings. I'll work on that. I appreciate the comments. Thanks.

No I don't get a cut. Right now I'm trying to support the site with google advertising. I'm going to introduce a premium mebership at some point too for people to enhance their listings but you'll always be able to list for free and people can contact you for free.
