Last night this was on the news and the link is a follow up story. Last night as I was watching the news they had a broadcast of this woman in the video on the phone talking to the news anchors. This woman let her dog outside with no fence by itself and she said the dog never leaves the yard. This was after she had said that a few weeks earlier she had seen a coyote in the area and other neighbors had also seen coyote's in the neighborhood. When they asked the woman how the dog was she said she did not know because the coyote ran off with the dog into the woods.

You would have thought that she would have been out their with the dog from the moment she let the dog out instead of letting the dog out hearing the dogs cry's and then going outside, especially since she had first hand knowledge of coyote's in the area by seeing one previously. In this case a leash might have also helped because she would have been able to pick the dog up quickly with the leash if she had to.

Now let's see. She knows that there are coyotes in the area, but she leaves her small dog out there alone. And now it is the coyote's fault that he took such tempting prey. Right.

There's a person who simply cannot grasp the "wild" part of "wild animal."

I'm still wondering how the heck this was newsworthy.

Maybe that's a good thing if they didn't have anything more sensational report on.
