I'm new to the whole photography thing but would love to do more with it. My old canon powershot died and I am thinking of getting this one...

Amazon.com: Canon PowerShot S95 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch inch LCD: Camera & Photo

What do you think? I'm mostly going to be taking nature and dog pictures, would a different, cheaper canon power shot get the job done just as well?

I like the size and portability of the P&S, but read that this one has some more advanced options on it as well which I liked....

    Thanks for any input!!!

Thanks for your help! I like the portability of a p&s for sure, but it's good to know canon is the way to go for those versus the Nikon I was also considering lol. :)

You're welcome! I'd wait for a few more replies before you base your decision on what I said though - like I mentioned, that's just what I've heard. Although if you just LIKE the cannon (or nikon) better, go with that. :)
