How long do they let them go?

Just curious, but how long do Vets usually let the pregnant female go?

It depends on the dog and the vet how long they will wait. My vet with smaller dogs likes to take them on the 65th day because of them getting to big. But like I said it depends on your vet

Yes I'm sitting here at work, with guess what on my mind???? It is tourchure being away from her BUT I'm leaving early and gong with her to the Vet.

What I was thinking is if she didn't take on the 1st day like I've been counting, she could still be at day 61, if I count from the last day bred. Right??? Since she was bred May 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. She had full ties on every day as well.

You are very right that it is possible that she never took on the first day. Not sure what to tell you about due date though. Sometimes its hard to guess an exact date with multiple breedings.

I wouldn't rush in to a section just yet but I'm no vet. I have Boxers its very unlikely for a Boxer to need a section with a chi its different they are I have heard notorious for needing a section. I would just make sure that the pups are still moving and mum is feeling OK. The clear discharge is normal and can start at anytime during pregnancy.

I don't think at this point they would. But I was just thinking maybe they would.

Also you were asking about food I would recommend Innova. I think it would be fantastic for a chi.

don't take so many X rays on the dog especially when she is pregnant...x rays have strong radiation..not good for the dog not to mention the pups

Great!! The discharge is normal, most likely her mucas plug. If it was green and had a very foul oder then that is a bad sign. If she's not already, I would take her to her whelping area. When she starts getting restless, laying down, standing, turning in circles, pawing and digging, thats a good sign one is on the way. Remember if she is pushing and straining for an hour and not producing a pup then you need to rush her to the Vet immediately. Enjoy watching, and try not to help too much, I have heard that if you help too much then it can sometimes cause them to abandon the litter leaving you to raise the pups yourself. Don't hesitate to help if she needs it, or if a pup needs it, but just enjoy watching if she dosen't need your help.
Good Luck!!

Xrays

So far I haven't had any done. My vet did do a free ultra sound for me though. That was exciting and I seen the heart beats!

Innova Food

Thanks! Where can this be purchased? I've fed Iams religiously for years. My pug is 7 years old and has never had a sniffle (knock on wood!)
