Plans for 2009

I have finally made my decision about who I am sending Penny to next year. Silverhill's Ice is a very nice young dog who is 2 pts from his AKC CH title. He has done very well in the ring, with several great Sweepstakes showings, a Gr. 3 from the classes, and both majors at only 19 months. Ice's dam won the ARC National, the ARC top 20, was BOS at Westminster, and has produced 6 CH offspring already. Ice's sire is a beautiful dog, with outstanding type and movement who is also producing very well.

Ice has lovely breed type and some of the most beautiful side gait I've seen.

This breeding is contingent on Ice's health testing results, however, I have no reason to feel that those results won't be favorable from his pedigree.

So, without further ado, I am announcing my plans for the Redyre DOUBLE litter.

Good luck Red. He's beautiful.

I am alway so nervous about announcing anything until ultra sound confirms pregnancy. I've had too many misses, it's made my leery. I keep a waiting list, but absolutely will not take confirmed reservations until I know that I will have something for them.

Looks like he hasn't had any of his OFA's back though?

She said the breeding is contingent upon his results, Corgi. :)

Red, this sounds great. I am definitely going to try to come down there and meet you and the dogs and the puppies for this litter, if your offer from last year still stands. Seeing them evaluated would be such a cool experience. (Besides, they are fuzzy and cute and they are ROTTIE puppies - what's not to love?)

Nope, no health testing yet. He is only 19 mos old! :D I doubt he will be able to have it all done by Penny's next season, so that will put us near the end of next year. Probably about this time.

One of the reasons I am so enthusiastic about this breeding is that I have known personally almost every dog on the dam's side of this dog's pedigree. I have seen his sire B'mer in the ring numberous times. (WOW he is a REALLY nice dog). The B'mer's sire is from a well known line of top producers. The number one dog this year goes straight back to CH Fine's Ciara von Covenant, one of the top producers in Rottweilers, and she was only bred TWICE.

I have wanted for a long time and studied pedigrees for YEARS for a way to get back to the Von Boylan A litter. It was so outstanding. She is the dam of this litter, in which there were 5 AKC CHs, 2 of which were multi BIS and BISS, 1 SchH3, 1 SchH2, a Herding CH, and one of the top producing dogs of our time, Multi V-1, Multi BISS, A/C CH Von Boylan Antonio Banderas SchHIII, BST, AD, BH, TT, CGC.

CC's second litter also had 5 dogs to finish their AKC CH titles, along with 2 dogs who won Specialty shows, and another who won an all breed BIS, along with 2 CDXs, one CD and a tracking title. She was an unbelievable producer. I am so delighted to have found a really beautiful way through Ice to get back to this outstanding bitch.

The progeny from both of her litters was used fairly extensively, so I will have numerous ways to linebred back into this down the road.

Then the dam of Ice won our National Specialty, the ARC Top 20, was Best Opposite at Westminster, and has already produced 6 CHs, with more to come from Ice's litter.

This breeding goes back into the Gamegard's side of Penny's pedigree slightly, with some further back linebreeding on CH Gamegard's Limited Edition and CH Pioneer's DJ Star Stuben. I have not counted the number of lines that go back to the Gamegard's foundation bitch, but there are probably more than TEN, but this is way back, around the 6, 7, 8 and futher back lines in the ped.

Ice's pedigree promises that he will be an outstanding producer. Penny will probably only be bred this second time and that will be it for her. If this litter turns out as nice as this current one has so far, she will probably make ARC production records with just 2 litters.

And if you have gotten to the end of this boring pedigree research thread, you know I am a true pedigree nerd. :D

Oh, how exciting! Are you planning to keep a pup from this litter also, or sending them all out into the world? I don't know if I could place all (or any :p) of the pups from a breeding. Good thing I don't plan to breed, or I would be over run!

StillandSilent, I plan every breeding with the intent of moving forward by keeping at least one puppy from the litter. :D

The stud dog owner, who is a close friend, will be taking a puppy, and so will Penny's breeder. I have another interested home that is experienced in showing dogs, and at least one super pet home that is already committed.

I was incredibly fortunate with the people who have puppies from the Choice litter, and this puppy list is shaping up to be really nice too.

:D
