That they have horrible gas and their #2 smells a lot worse than other dogs ?
Oh yes! Man their farts could fill up the room in the matter of minutes.
I call them, '' silent, but deadly.''
What about their #2 ?
It depends on what you feed them. Garbage in, garbage out.
Tallulah doesn't have a problem with it, but she eats raw and EVO RM and human foods -- fruits, veggies, etc. I don't, however let her eat Science Diet, Iams, Purina, Ol' Roy or other crap.
I just went out to check and a Pit with the same diet as a Fila basically both smell bad. I suppose it would take a more refined connoisseur to tell you the more favorable and less favorable points with each. If you are looking for a breed that seriously reeks either breed would serve you well.
I dunno paps can be pretty bad too. One of mine right now has AWFUL gas. Dunno who, they're both sitting under my desk and then I get whiffs of it every now and then. I can hardly imagine a dog having worse. *gag*
I found that my pit had absolutely zero tolerance for most grains, including soy. It wasn't only dog food, human baked goods containing grain caused tremendous gas as well. In a car it was horrifying.
I understand that, but I heard theirs just smell worse.
Small but deadly.
I dunno about pits having bad gas, but drmom reminded me that one time I was driving home with Bruno, and it was pouring outside. He totally ripped the nastiest fart ever, and I couldn't even roll down the windows. It sucked majorly!!!
Nastiest farts ever were Charley. Even the dogs . . . even SHIVA, who eats skunk, would get up and leave the room.
My friend Bill fed his pits chili beans one time.
Oh. My. Gosh. It burned our sinuses.
Charlie our griffon has a low tolerance for changes of diet too. One time he had it so bad, every time he farted he looked at his bottom with a confused expression, then buried his face under a pillow. It even made my daughter cry.
:rofl1: ! That's awesome! Also, we need more pictures of the littler pointer boy, we don't get nearly enough!
As far as pitties stinking worse than others, I only get experience at the dog park but everything stinks there!
Our Izzy is weird, she doesn't really fart much unless she's jumping on an off the bed a lot. One good jump off the bed and Justin and I are giggling about dog farts!
Renee is right: garbage in = garbage out
My dogs are now on Praire's INSTINCT (their grain-free food). In fact, I don't believe I've had any gas problems since I quit feeding Nutro Natural Choice back in 2003.
Haha wow, well I do know for a fact my dog can rip up some pretty nasty ones every now and then. I know once we were camping and we were in the car she let one rip, I rolled down all the windows. The funniest part of it all was she smelled her own bottom and her eyes nearly popped out of her sockets and she covered her nose with her own paw :rofl1:.
It all depends on what you feed them my guy has bad gas when he has too many treats, otherwise he is the least of the stinky lol
Fart smell isn't Breed Specific but I have smelt some bad ones :rofl1:
I don't know. It may have something to do with the dog's individual nature. I feed my three the same kind of food, bathe them on the same day, etc.. but for some reasons, Muffin's always the stinkiest in all counts!
Oddly enough , Ollie doesn't fart or I don't smell them .
I've heard that Clumber Spaniels are the stinkiest breed if you are looking to drive off burglers, neighbors, spouses, and wildlife with your dog's odor. :rofl1:
Separate names with a comma.
