So glad to hear she's improving!

I'm not good at birds- shes a parakeet right? but she looks like a lovebird my grandparents have. Is that the same thing? Maybe I just think of them as the yellow ones I always used to see at the petstores.

Awww, so glad she is feeling better. I hope she gets to come home soon.

She is a White Winged Parakeet, so yeah she's a 'parakeet' but not like your common parakeet/budgie. Parakeet just means small long tailed bird. :) Kind of like...Terriers in dogs, you can call a dog a terrier but there are Airedales and Scotties and Westies and so forth. I have one too :).

I suppose it is possible. She saw Kiwi die and now she is by herself. I'm hoping when we get her home and she gets around normal household sounds she will feel better.
I hope so. I know my friends parakeet (the normal budgie type) went into a severe funk until she got a new cagemate. Once they bonded after introductions she went back to being her perky annoying (I say that lovingly :p ) self.

Pickles is home! I'm taking the day off tomorrow to keep an eye on her and am taking her back in tomorrow to get weighed. Info have to get her oral meds for a couple if days, so that should be a learning experience-lol. I have a heating pad under her cage and the heat turned up to an ungodly 80*. She could still use and spare vibes and prayers though that she continue to improve at home. I'm happy she's home but very nervous. She is in a new cage now and she really wanted me to hold her rather than be in the cage tonight, but she had such a big day I wanted her to get rest.

YAY!! I'm so glad she's home! I bet she'll perk up now that she's home. Poor girly, how rough.

Well I took her in to get weighed and she has held at 56 grams, the same as yesterday so that is good news! This afternoon she was even calling to the other birds. I will take her back again tomorrow to make sure her weight is still holding. Losing weight is an issue when your weight is measured in grams!
