My dad saw this at a pet store he passed by today and mentioned it to me - does anyone else own one of these? any thoughts?

As Katalin likes cool as opposed to room temperature water anyway, and in winter the air in the hallway where her feeding area is is atrociously dry as well - seems like not a bad investment

It's a neat idea as long as she doesn't drool. I have to continually wash regular water bowls during the day to get the drool out and put fresh water in.

Had it, returned it 4-5 years ago. Filters needed to be change semi often, were pricey, and it drew more power than you'd think. Neat idea, that model wasn't practical, and my dogs didn't drink more due to it which they say they should.

I got rid of my petmate fountain for this one:

I like it a lot better. It's quieter, stainless steel so prettier and easier to clean, the filters don't need to be changed as often and all the dogs like it no matter how they drink (izzie likes running water and drinks from the fountain part, chai gulps and dunks her whole face in to drink so the pool part is big enough she can do that, and ruby drinks normally)
