Ohh Poor Pepper. Sending speedy recovery vibes your way. On a positive note atleast she likes to take her meds. Now you don't have to hid/sneak/ or shove them down her throat.

That raccoon didnt' come back last night either. I walked down to see if she had caught it, but I don't see any signs of blood. Hopefully it got a scare so good that it will stay away from these buildings forever. It will live a lot longer if it does.

She is being really good about not messing with her bandage. IF this had been my lab a couple decades ago, or evn Mary they would have focused on nothing else but getting it off.

ONe I put down her throat, but I am a good piller. I think I can honestly say that, my hands are small and I am quick. I rub a bit of butter on the pill and it's down before they even know it. We had one dog at one kennel I worked at that would see you coming and froth at the mouth. I never understood why Sharon could not get the pill down him 2 days a week. After I pilled him he would not froth for days. But after she worked I would come in and he would be a mess so I knew what had happened the day before. THe thought of the pill made him look like he had rabies. Poor Hyia the first time she had to have a pill I just told her to open her mouth..didnt' even think about it until after I had done it that I just pilled my grandchild like a puppy. I think she was around 5.

I looked around for the racccoon thinking maybe she did it damage (in that 5 seconds) because I have never known one to stay away even after a good scare. But 2 days have passed, and still no tracks. I hope she didn't. I hope she just gave it a fright.

Peppertini!!! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

You get better quickly, Missy, and no messing with that bandage!

It's amazing how quickly they can get into trouble, isn't it? Sawyer nearly broke his fool neck last month jumping off of the top platform of some playground equipment. I nearly had a heart attack on the spot but he seemed to land perfectly.

I hope all of you can get some sleep. You really didn't need this on top of everything else right now. :(

I left her with My Mom and Hyia for all of 30 minutes while I went out to get a chicken dinner for Mothers day. I came back to find Pepper running down the hall with the leg stretched out and sliding it in front of her. She was suppose to be kept quiet :(:(:( Mom showed me a bit of bandage that had worked it's way out and it wans't fresh blood, but dried was on it...all I know is I will worry utnil tomorrow morning...I will have her in to have her dressing changed at 7 30 and pick up the grands on the way back.

Pepper says Green does not make it better. The good news is the Doc says it looked really good in there. The bad news is 5 weeks to go. STitches out on Thursday.

raced back to the vet this morning...I thought her toes looked puffy and she didn't want to walk. I thought the bandage was too tight. They weren't hugely puffy but more then they have been all along. I had both babies to arrive in less than an hour and I can't wait for an appt on this, even tho they kind of expressed...You NEED an appt. So not my normal vet, and this isn't even the vet who did the surgery, but the vet that is standing in for her. And I don't really feel good about his wrap. He cut it up about an inch above her foot which took the pressure off, and put a piece of tape over that. I managed to get back in time so that my son was only a little late to work. All Pepper wants to do is go out and stretch out in the sun and bake, drink water, cool off inside and go back out and bake. I figure she probably knows what she is doing as long as s he doesn't get too hot. I am a wreck with worry. I am taking the same antibiotic she is, and it has no sun warning on it, so....I wish with all my heart I could have gone to Independence animal clinic..I ahve complete trust in them, but with these babies, and only one me, and and and and...I just want her poor piddy paw back to it's tidy trim Edward Scissor titanium toed self. i am praying their will be no long term pain for her. I need to grow more eyes, more arms and more legs to keep up.

The tape at the top is bothering her, but other than that it seems to be holding fine this time. Pepper picked up a toy, albeit briefly and tried to play a bit. That is progress. 3 more weeks to go.
