Buttons is 9 weeks old today :) What a little pistol he's turning out to be. His ears though are making me wonder. One of them is nearly always mostly up. The other goes back and forth between almost totally up to half up/half flopped. The tips on both want to flop over even when the rest of the ear is up. Is this a normal puppy thing? Am I destined to have one of those confused ears dogs? In the grand scheme of things, of course, it doesn't matter. I've looked through tons of breeder sites and it seems most have up ears at this age and none mention anything about taping/posting which I'm not doing at any rate LOL!

No one really tapes papillon ears, they usually fix themselves and most breeders don't want to tape because they don't want to breed to weaker eared dogs. (Thus perpetuating the need to tape)

You can give him a little cottage cheese or calcium supplements. Some breeders will also shave the back of the ear. I'm not sure how much that would help. At 9 weeks, Nard was still 'undecided' as we like to call it, lol. Both his ears ended up going up. Sometimes they'll go up and down throughout teething processes. Occasionally a dog will end up with one floppy ear and one erect or semi-erect ears, but it doesn't happen that often. I've known a few like that though.

tums...

the calcium in tums helps and there easy on the tummy...
there bound to flop during teething too :)
Oh yeah.... that's what most people use for calcium supplements. Shoulda added that. xD

Actually none of my paps have had ears that flopped during teething. Papillons have ridiculously thick ear leather compared to most breeds. I know a couple that had interesting ears during teething but they're the minority by far.

He rather enjoyed the teaspoon of cottage cheese in his dinner tonight so I think we'll stick with that unless it upsets his tummy.

And pics :)

And one of Pedro being a good boy :) And WOW I need to clean under the couch LOL!

LOL he's really a pretty easy puppy. Someone remind me of this in a few weeks though! He's figuring out the whole no biting like a demon boy and potty outside. He's a dream in a crate and about half the time sleeps through the night with no potty in the crate! Thank goodness for his puppy-mommy starting them in crates early on. I also thank Pedro for keeping him worn out with play ;)
