well Panda is beginnnign to loose it. after almost 9 years of being the dominant cat in any area our family has lived, he is loosing it. i don't like him fighting any other cat he see's. but atelast i know he can look after himself.

but h is getting in worse shape. mum bought him in last night because he has standing off at another cat in our yard around 2am. it worried me because he usually doesn't just stand off another cat. he chaes them down and makes beats them up. he's had his feline aids needles but i worry now. he''s missing bits of fur from fights. thats never happened before. i'm going to start bringing him in at night. never had to do that before.

i suddenly relised this morning he's getting old and its breaking my heart :(

Awww ((((HUGS))))). Its so hard to see them getting older, I notice how Casey is ageing and it hurts so much, I can't lose her. Just enjoy your time together, I hope you have many more years together :).

Aww. The only thing certain in life is death. I agree, it is hard to see an animal age, but it is a fact of life and you shouldn't let that stop you from enjoying your Panda.

We had a 15 year old siamese/himalayan that just died in my mom's closet one day a couple years ago. We knew she was getting older but we still enjoyed her and spoiled her rotten and she still scared the crap out of the dogs at her old age. :D

So, think of good times. Have more good times and take the best care you can of your Panda. Allow him to live his life to the fullest and you will enjoy every second of it. :) ;)

mmm. i know. but this is all new to me. i've never actually had to loose soemthing that i've given so much love to. :( i mean, we lost daisy. and that ripped my heart out. i loved her so much. but still, she was very much garce's dog and i know that grace still hurts so much everyday for her. daisy was for grace as panda is for me. i can't imagine what she's gone through.
i always thought. when panda gets old. i'll just set up his life so everything is easy for him. i'd never given it real thought because he is just such a timeless part of my life.

I'm sorry. :( I don't know that there is anything that I can say to make it all better for you. Just enjoy the time you have and take the best care of him that you can. I wish you and Panda many more years together.

Aw thats so sad. I think the best thing you can do is bring him inside premanently. Cats can live very long lives, and at 9 he is at his peak, but a Toms life can be drastically reduced because for them everything is fight fight, and even if he is neutered the other males will still see him as a threat

I have to disagree. Please do whatever makes your cat happy. Drastically changing one's life is not always the best bet and often times leads to sooner death.

I've thought some more about you and your Panda, Mrose... take him to the vet, let him get checked out, make sure everything is in tip top shape. You said he was standing off a cat and has never done this, make sure that it not because something is wrong with him.

Even at nine years old he can still have a lot of life in him. Every cat I have owned has lived a long, happy life. With regular check ups and lots of love, there is no reason for your Panda to not do the same! ;) Best of luck to you and Panda.
