My son's girlfriend lives in a trailer park here. They have had their 5 death this year of an elderly person overdosing on viagra. 5 in one year seems like a lot to me!!! Someone knows someone at the police dept so that is how i heard the news ...anybody else hear of something like this?

I have heard it's killed lots of people, but I think 5 in one area would make me a bit suspicious!! Plus it certainly shouldn't be given to anyone with a heart condition of any kind!!

That is so sad. I think it's because it's readily available online, so lots of older men buy it prior to having a medical examination. That seems so high...but then again, I can't place them ever mentioning it on the news...and you know it must happen all too often.

I would definatly agree that a doctor is medically liable IF the person taking the medication tells them that they are taking it. However some of the time (our boys have done this in the past before they came here) they go to one doctor, don't get the answer they want, and go to a second doc without telling them their history. Unfortunatly this is an excellent way to get all sorts of medication you wouldn't otherwise. It is sad that so many older people have died from it though. If they had any kind of heart condition and took any kind of nitro tabs or spray and then take the viagra it causes an extreme blood pressure drop and can cause a heart attack. That is the most likely cause of death from viagra. That is one of the first questions a doctor, nurse or EMT (me) asks a person exhibiting symptoms of a heart attack, do they take viagra and nitro. It is sad how many older people would rather risk not being embarassed and say no when they really are taking it. So sad that the world has led us all to believe you are incomplete if you aren't awesome in bed so even younger men are taking supplements that could hurt them otherwise. Goodness I think my one grandpa (the only one left :( ) would die from sheer overexertion of the activity, never mind viagra. Sigh.

Mom was talking this morning of how
bush and matt blunt are planning on fixing the budget..of course i had to bite my tongue to keep reminding her that SHE VOTED FOR HIM..but i didn't..i keep waiting for them to get tired of how expensive i am to keep around...we will never really know will we? I think the idea that a local doc could be involved is a good one. (i am ignoring your comment Gustav...shame on you :D ) pharmacology taught that if a man is having troubles..it is usually the first sign of a health problem..more than an emotional. Some where i heard to think of it as the dip stick..a detector of great problems. 5 in one small community of probably no more than 75 is outragous. Heart attacks are very painful..i will pass the idea that it could be a local doctor on...would like to see that stopped. my info is probably not even known by many of the residents.
