Hello guys, Noitaz and I have been gone for a bit in the midst of a move – however, we have settled down and now have pictures of what will be the new addition to our family in 8 weeks time. There is a story behind him, why I picked him and it may seem silly but regardless I will tell it, we picked him the day he was born because the same day he was born we went out to the breeders on a whim. Well, when we arrived she had him on her lap applying pressure to a torn umbilical cord and had called her vet who was telling her what steps to take via the phone.
Well, we stood back watching and she asked me to wash my hands and help her with the towels (I have vet technician training, and intend on getting a degree in it once I have my citizenship) well she handed him off to me and got up to go grab something the vet had given her to help jump start the puppies immunity and to give them some more strength if they were having trouble from birth. I held his wound, and she got some in his mouth and not even a few minutes later he quit bleeding – we initially thought he wouldn’t make it, we were quite distraught, but I told her he was the one I wanted. I kept whispering to him not to give up, and to hold on. By the time we went to leave he was beating up siblings for food, and I called her a day ago and she says he is doing splendid! We’re so happy he is doing ok, and though he doesn’t have a call name his registered name is “Zero to Hero†because he never gave up.
I was the first on the list for a merle male, so I am pleased only boy in the litter that was merle.
