With all the talk of Christmas, I thought I would ask this question.

Do you let your dog "open" a wrapped gift on Christmas?

Major won't :p Lizzie LOVES paper and unwrapping it, lol.

I'm going to if he wants to. If he doesn't, then that's okay, I'll do it for him. I've let the kitties do it as well.. I just loosely wrap and lightly tape it so they have an easy job of demolishing the paper.

Phoebe won't, she is WAY to reserved!

But Orson will and DOES if you get it started for him, but he LOVES to rip up paper even when it's NOT gift wrap! LOL

I remember my first Christmas with Shelby. She destroyed the paper. Mom use to have to lock her away on Christmas (she said it was so Shelby wouldn't scare off Santa because Shelby never liked men) because she'd unwrap all the presents.

Spanky and Bandit have no interest in it.

Yes! Lui often gets food and treats as presents because he doesn't really play with toys, except for tennis balls. He kinda chews on the packet for a while with makes the cellotape stop sticking and he can mostly get it out. But then we have to open the completely goobed on treat packet

Whisper's already peaking at her presents. And I am going to if she wants to, which more than likely she will! lol Hershey, I still have some shopping for a Humongous bone for him. And he won't want to unwrap his gifts. Unless theres food in them.

Bring up a subject and it brings up Grammy memories . ( You know how the elderly ramble on ! ) Our goldens always got stuffed animals for Christmas . I'd rub each toy on the dog it was to go to , then wrap in tissue paper, mark with their name and put under the tree . All packages were off limits under the tree until Christmas morning . Christmas eve Santa would put a ribbon across out staircase , which no one could cross until all were ready to go down . ( Of course Santa's helper went down early , put the lights and the coffee on ) .Dogs lined up first ( average 4 ) , and when ribbon was cut , they hit the tree first , ( I always placed theirs at the edge ) and grabbed their package....and tissue flew ! What fun it was !!!
