I got Blue cause I didnt wanna see this little guy

to the pound, I didnt care if he filled a job. Being a mutt OC might have passed him by.

Or when I found out my girl

was going to the pound if I didnt take her, again I didnt care if she filled a job.

The elitist idea that a dog needs to have a job to be worthy of being owned is just, well elitist.

*left out*

I don't have a cat. *tear* I'm still on my first pet ever, unless you count my betta that my parents accidentally killed.
I don't have a cat either, just a few decorations and a chinchilla. :D

We did have 5 kittens earlier today, but they're with a foster now. They were really cute though.

Ahhh, sisterly love. :D

The female cats I've had have always been less cuddly, but had more self-confidence than my males. Although my current one IS a cuddler to a ridiculously cute extent . . .

Hey Boemy, did you ever notice a female cat could jump on a table and delicately land in four coffee cups if she wanted to? A male will take everything down including the table cloth?

I was going to start this exact same thread yesterday.

Herschel isn't real. His only job is having fun while playing fetch, disc, and agility. Not to mention he is extremely obedient, perfect off-leash, and the most loving companion I could imagine.

Sorry, I guess we'll take him to the shelter tomorrow.

HAHA.. I didn't feel THAT attached, till they told me they were sorry they killed my fish, and could they buy me a new one.. then I cried.
Awww, we killed Jo's second betta on accident right after her first one died. Actually the new one was just sickly to begin with. Anyways, we kept her from noticing and replaced it with another blue one. It was bad, but she was so sad. She never noticed, but the replacement has died too.

OH YES. The female is the daintiest little thing and could land on a dime despite being declawed (not by me--she was a stray), but the boys . . . if they aren't knocking things over by landing on them, they're knocking them over by running headfirst into them.

It may look like he's trying to climb up in this picture, but he's actually just discovered the cupboard is too small to turn around in and is flailing to get down. He knocked the cereal box into the sink . . .

Same here Boemy, and they greet me every time i come home and they are the epitome of affection both to me and to my friends. I really take umbrage to people who get cats and TREAT them like they are...um...ornaments, and then judge them as ...ornaments. If you treat cats like they are not there, they will do what they have to do to adapt. It all has to do with how you raise them, same as dogs. They do have self respect, and all the more, it's a serious compliment when they love you. Some people have a problem with that, because for a cat to love you, you have to actually earn its trust. But once you do...it's a great experience.
:hail: Too true! I dislike it when people who have zero experience with cats (and sometiems dogs too) make snide comments to me, like "Cats are aloof and don't like people." or "My cat is crazy--he runs around the basement yowling and then rubs against me and trips me." These are people who know nothing about cats, and often have no desire to educate themselves about them. You can always tell type A from type B though, because when you tell them the TRUTH about cats, type B insists that you are wrong. Obviously experience with cats isn't required to know concrete knowledge of them! :lol-sign:

I only had a bowl. Was terrible to clean, if I ever tried fish again I'd want a set up, filtration, etc. But then I'd have to worry about my parents killing them if I ever had to go anywhere. ;) I can take Cider with me to avoid oopses, lol.

No need, I'm sure there's someone who will take the fake dog off of your hands for a small price. ;)

Then you can go find a real one.
