Hey, everyone. My husband & I have been breeding pomeranians and chihuahuas for years now. Lately with all the discussion on the forums we have decided that we are going to quit breeding. I always knew that overpopulation was a huge problem but you all have really put it into prospective for me. Yes, I love breeding, I have the time and the money to do it, and I will miss it but I do not want to add to the problem of overpopulation anymore. Even though our dogs are purebred and lovely, I just can't stand the thought anymore of bringing more dogs into the world when there are so many out there already. So I would like to officially announce that I am not longer going to breed. I hope this puts a smile on some peoples faces to know that you have changed someones mind.:)

Kudos !!! There's a time and place for everything. I miss it so much, but when Goldens became so popular and they were starting to show up at HS and rescue...it was time to stop.

Yup, thats the other thing. I keep seeing more and more of them....especially the pom/chi crossbreds. It hurts me to see people cross breeding two wonderful breeds like that.

It's really a shame, as the dedicated breeders back out and the BYB's double up !

It is :( I hate to see good responsible breeders stop breeding, as they are the only thing holding some breeds together.

No I didn't show them (And I know I'm gonna get sh!+ for this, lol). But a friend of mine is a CKC judge and I got her to look over my dogs to make sure that they conformed.

There are a lot of other great Pom breeders out there anyways. Diogenoir Kennels has exceptionally nice poms. And they are not too far from me.

Its almost a relief now though. No more puppies to worry about all night long lol.

I am still in touch with all the people that have my puppies (didn't have many) and all are in excellent homes. All the puppies are spayed and neutered except one that went to a friend of mine....she is planning on showing him.
