We are going to watch the opening ceremony in a bit, but that's it. He only wants to watch it so he "has something to moan about tomorrow" :D

I'm playing frisbee at 5:30 and we usually play 'till its dark, but we are starting early today just for the opening ceremony. This way we'll at least be able to catch the end.

That says sheep, I don't see dogs. Then again, I only read the title :p
Danny Boyle, the visionary filmmaker at the helm of next month's Opening Ceremony, announced Tuesday that the event will open with 70 sheep, 12 horses, 10 chickens, nine geese, three cows, three sheep dogs, two goats and a plow in an attempt to recreate the British countryside on the world's biggest stage.
I'm going to dinner at 7:30 with friends, so I'm recording it and will watch it when I get home. I was invited to an opening ceremonies party, but I had already RSVP'd for dinner, darn it!

Ahh very historical :D

We do have a rich history. That is something I am actually proud of, even the bad bits I suppose!

Is it live there? We're watching the industrial revolution right now lol

I find the opening ceremony to be boring.

The only events I watch are the equestrian and gymnastic events. The rest are all bleh to me.

You can stream it live online, but on TV it's not live. Right now I'm watching the men's soccer qualifiers.

Apparently 27 million pounds...does the olympic committee not fundraise for that? I think when we had the games in salt lake and atlanta, I remember them asking for private donations to cover the costs of stadiums and events and such.
