dont worry Lea, don't say sorry to me. I'm reading the thread, and I am just thinking this is a misunderstanding.

to babyblue-yea there you go...no im joking...the only reason why i started this because me and stirder were having a descussion about GS's inteeligance so it was really only meant for him, but then i thought well lets see what every1 thinks which was a bad idea.
If this question was only meant for stirder, you should have taken it to personal messaging. That way only stirder can reply, not every single member on the board.

Shutting a thread down too often causes more problems than it solves, Stirder. I've got enough trust and faith in my friends here to know that they almost always work around their misunderstandings and miscommunications. About the only time I shut down a thread is when we've got a troll.

Lea, Nedim and Babyblue have all shown themselves to be very good at carrying on discussions in the past and I've got every confidence in them.

Now, as to directly answering the thread in a linear fashion . . . well, you don't usually get any farther than shouting matches when you start opining on whose breed is smartest, best, prettiest, strongest, best guardian, ad infinitum - and I know Lea well enough to know that that wasn't what she had in mind at all! She's a bright girl and is very good at looking at things from different viewpoints. Lea's been more of a peacemaker than an arguer; right now she's sad since she just lost her Grampa and her feelings are a bit tender, otherwise this would have all been much, much different.

As I said earlier...this tends to be a touchy subject. It's kind of like asking, "Which race of human do you think is most intelligent?" Can you imagine how big (and horrible) of a fight that would turn into?

I have a mostly border collie mix, and she is very intelligent. But everyone thinks herding dogs are most intelligent because they respond quickly and are loyal, which is all part of herding.

Yep, they're sheep herders. They are very intelligent dogs, but the reason most people think they're the most intelligent breed is because herding dogs respond to commands quickly and listen well. And many times those same people think, say, terriers are stupid because they usually don't respond as quickly, but the reason they don't respond as quickly is they are stubborn and independent.
