That is Dangerous. I seriously doubt anyone with your lack of knowledge is employed by the humane society and if they do I am scared to think how the dogs are cared for. On top of that any humane society who suggests chokes or prongs to JQP is a JOKE and needs to be looked into.

I use a limited slip collar on Ivan. Its by white pine outfitters.

Not only is it a limited slip, but its adjustable. Ivan has had his since he was 8 weeks old (hes now 5 1/2). I never had to go out and buy a bunch of different collars and its still in good shape. And they are reasonably priced. they also have nice leads to match the collars that are very comfortable to hold onto.

My dog comes when I call her name and then say "come." She also comes when I yell "get off the road" as that is her emergency recall (thanks to the posters here who taught us that lifesaving technique)
Food isn't necessary.
What is more, she doesn't come to me cringing and slinking and afraid......like the dogs of SOME "trainers"...not to put too fine a point on it...

Actually my dogs dont get treats to work Would make hunting rather difficult and useless My dogs work because we work as a TEAM not treats, harsh corrections or anything like that.

And where did I change the rules. We do not use treats, hard corrections or anything with our dogs. We form a bond and work as a TEAM not MASTER and MINION. Or Abuser and Abusee. Heck I can call him off the hog without having a treat or anything all I have to say is Tytus and I have a big goofy dog running right to me ready to coat me in slobbery kisses.
