Beau's eaten all the hair off his back legs the past two weeks. We've had awful fleas so I'm wondering if that's the problem? I've been giving flea meds every 2-3 weeks and still they have them. Maybe the vet will have some ideas, I'm not sure.

His poor legs look like chicken legs. :( Looks painful.

Dawn dish soap works wonders. I've had a couple of fosters come thorugh that had fleas. I gave them baths often with Dawn soap and no more fleas. :)

    Poor Beau :(

I used to live in Lawton, Oklahoma... The fleas down your way are pure evil!

    Poor Beau...

I don't know how you feel about herbal remedies, but if you want I can look to see if my "Herbs for Pets" has any recommendations.

Forget medicating the dogs every 3 weeks and treat your yard - break out the big guns if you need to.

As far as his poor chicken legs cortisone spray or the anti itch ointment in the yellow bottle at the pet store ( sorry I forget the name) will help. Otherwise use your normal dog shampoo and just leave it on for 5 - 8 minutes to smother your fleas.

We have satan fleas too, advantage and frontline only work for a day or two if we are lucky. Comfortis worked though.

I think that really any soap will kill fleas... when I flea comb Lacey I drown the little fsckers in soapy (any soap) water. It really really helps and cuts down on fleas. You might want to try flea combing him every day, twice a day would help SO much.

I freaking hate fleas, they are not a vital link in the food chain. Why can't they just go extinct?

POOR Beau, sounds like a flea allergy. I have a cat that does that except she does it on her back. :(
