Well, its nice and sunny out, and its going to be around 20° (cel.) out today, so I'm going to take my bike and ride to Frankfurt with it. Its about 1 1/2 hours one way if I'm fast so I think thats a pretty good start to getting more toned. :D I'll ride back depending on what time it is. ^^

I really want to get a treadmill. I'm sure I can probably find one on craigslist or something. I need one that can fold up though so that I can keep it in the living room... hmmmm....

Does anyone ever use those Slim Fast meal replacer drinks??? I actually really like them. I used them last time when I lost so much weight. I would have one for breakfast with a small piece of fruit. Then later on I would have a granola bar of some sort as a snack before lunch. Lunch is usually a salad of some sort or something healthy. I love making sandwhiches wrapped in lettuce with no bread. YUMMY! Then I snack on something small whether it be fruit or a yogury between lunch and dinner. Dinner was usually something healthy but with some protein like a small piece of steak with veggies or something. That seemed to work well for me. I cut all my meals down a little smaller... like instead of eating a huge dinner I'd fill up my plate, eat half of it and then save the other half for the next night. That seemed to work out since I'm eating smaller snacks inbetween meals.

I was *going* to get Coldstone Creamery yesterday.... but I didn't! I resisted the urge! Wahoo! That's a step in the right direction - RESISTING the temptation to eat my favorite fatty foods!

I did good yesterday - snacking is my big issue, as is lack of activity. Not only did I actually eat meals - small healthy meals - but I took the dogs on a looooong walk! I need to start running again, but not until the ice is off the sidewalks! I'll start this week, barring any weather disasters.

Sis and I joined one of those 24/7 gyms, it's less than five minutes from work so we've been stopping by to torture ourselves for an hour on all the fun equipment (I HATE the elliptical but it burns the calories). Wanted to get in better shape for fencing and lose some weight that's crept back on this past year.

I'm doing well. I ate an apple earlier. Going to have half a subway sandwhich for lunch woo hoo!... I plan on taking Bamm for a really good walk today. :)

My mom sent me some recipes to help me eat healthier? Anyone want me to post the recipes?

Cider has agility tonight so I'll be moving my bum. We went grocery shopping, I was a good girl bought grapes, apples, clemintines, and things for sandwiches on whole wheat tortillas. And some slimfast powder to add to milk as I'm pretty classic for skipping meals. And we leave in a week to go ski in QC for a week. A week of hardcore skiing with instructors I may come home 10 pounds lighter even if I do indulge in the alcohol.

I had a bad BAD day yesterday.

When it starts with ice cream for breakfast, you know it's not going to be the healthiest of days.

I had fast food (A&W) for lunch, and we went to a banquet last night where I gorged myself on catered yumminess and the multiple types of desserts (though I did make sure to get fruit on my dessert plate!!)

Not only that, but when I was getting ready for the banquet, trying to find a dress I wanted to wear, I tried on EVERY dress in my wardrobe and none of them fit properly :( I ended up wearing a less formal, summery strapless dress that I fancied up with jewellery and heels.

I'm doing so well guys. I've already lost a few pounds. It's not much mind you and you can't really tell by looking at me... BUT if the scale isn't a liar then I've lost a few pounds. I have been trying to do some power walking with Bamm. He's enjoying it so much and it's really good for me. I'm eating much healthier. I've been making all my foods instead of going out. If I do have to go out (usually with Brendan) then I just order a salad or something else light.

I made these yummy chicken salad/mayo/tomato wraps. I need to find something that's healthy that I can substitute in place of the mayo though. I also went out and bought yogurt (low fat), bananas, those calorie packs things for an occassional snack, Special K cereal since it's better than what I normally eat, lowfat milk when I normally drink whole milk and those slim fast optima drinks which I actually really like. Slowly but surely I'm starting to get myself back on track.

I've gained so much weight since Brendan and I got back together. I was a lot smaller when we first started dating a few years back but then started to gain. When we broke up for a little bit I lost a ton of weight. I was eating healthier. I was working out all the time. I loved it. Now I'm back with Brendan and I'm super happy and I've gained all that weight back. I think that it's mostly a comfort thing. I'm so comfortable around him that I don't try to look my best. He and I usually go out to eat a lot. He doesn't gain the weight. I do.

That's ok though. I'm taking a step up and rising to the challenge. I asked Brendan to be an encouragement to me. Sometimes you just need people rooting you on ya know?

Anyways... I just wanted to update everyone on my progress. It's not much... but any small amount is enough to get you pumped up and ready to progress further.

Yesterday was good. Biked 16.1km. This morning is good, walked a couple of km to get the stiffness out. Dekka came with me to get limbered up, she was a bit stiff from the scuffle with Snip.

I plan on limiting calories AFTER exams. What is it with studying that makes you crave munchies?

I've actually been doing okay too... took Sierra on a two hour walk today (it was gorgeous out and we both really enjoyed our tour around town), and I've been trying to make her walks longer in general. Also, I've been trying not to drive when I could walk instead. Living in town I find I use my car WAY too much when I should be walking places.

I've been eating at home more, not super healthy meals, but I've been trying. And either way, eating in is generally better for you than eating out.

I've also increased my water intake, which is always good!

Now, my intake on sugary junk... well that's another battle. I'm working on it though.

I just read this whole thread at almost 2am... wow yall are really helping me motivate myself.
So I got me a little notebook and wrote down the different exercises I want to do, my goal, and a food/drink intake chart.
I'm starting all my healthy stuff in the morning.

I have a question though... I want to start getting up earlier than noon but I am not a morning person at all. If I dont get my sleep I become a grumpy woman, but once I get up I'm fine. So what do you guys think would be a good time for me to get up?
I might sleep til around 10am since i'm going to bed so late reading about weight loss and such.
But answer my question please and I am seriously glad there are people like yall here. Yall rock!

definitely don't sleep in all the time. It contributes to that fatigued feeling IMO. I would say if you're used to getting up around 10ish then try getting up at 8. Get up in the morning and eats something healthy and then maybe take Luca out for a nice walk or something. It'll help you clear your head and prepare for your day. I can't tell you how much more energy I have now that I don't sleep in anymore.

Thanks Amber.
My problem is falling alseep... for the last few weeks I can't fall asleep til around 2am then I don't get up til around noon.
So I need to start doing something during the day to make my body tired so I can sleep.

Or start getting up at 8, then you will be tired enough to fall asleep earlier (might take a few days)

There was a documentary on tv where it showed that lack of appropriate sleep made it difficult for the body to tell when it was full.
