Okay, I wanted to change my avatar to a picture of my dog Binx, but it wouldn't let me do anything but keep the avatar option as 'no avatar.' How do I change it???

You have to click on the Use Custom Avatar thing right underneath of that. Then you have to upload a picture or paste the url of an already uploaded picture. And if that doesn't work, then I'm not sure what you have to do.
I can't wait to see a picture of him. :)

Hmm...I don't have anything that says that. All I have is an empty box with "no avatar selected" ...but I have nothing to choose from or upload????

    Hi Binx,
Login, click on the 'user cp' link on the top menu bar.
You should be in your members area now. Look on the left
menu bar and click on the Avatar Edit link.
Then select the radio box for custom avatar, and follow
    the instructions from there...

P.S. - I just tested both ways to ensure they work :)
