Xander is very striking, very intelligent, and quite the character. Here he is playing with Daisy. He was a little bit too "in your face" for Daisy, but he listened when she corrected him for being annoying.

Tied him up to get some pics, as he doesn't stop moving!

Xander is a happy, friendly boy.

But he can have an intense look to him too. (Notice the tip of his tongue sticking out. Weirdo.)

Dogs like Xander are usually adopted quickly, but maybe its that intense look that intimidates people. Breed guesses welcome!

This is the kind of dog that gets overlooked; your basic brown mutt. Her name is Lacey, and to me she looks like a sheltie mix. She's an older dog who was just returned because the husband got deployed and the wife went to live with her parents who already had two dogs. Lacey is fabulous with children and good with other dogs.

And this is Swoosie, FOHA's newest pit bull! She's a sweetheart, loves to play with any kind of ball, and her intake sheet claims that she likes other dogs, however when I had her in the play area she was barking and growling at the dogs as they walked by on the outside. With people, she's a love. Some people drove up and Swoosie tried to get out of the play area to go meet them!

I can't believe some people want to ban this face.

    Done.

Aww! I love them all! :D My favorite is Swooshie though! :) ug. If people ban all Pit Bulls, what the fudge are they going to do with the living ones, that are banned? So cruel for people who have loving Pitties. Its cruel to even think about banning the Pit Bulls! But anywho! They are all adorable! (excuse my rant)

FOHA has some of the most beautiful dogs ever!

Honestly, there are so many dogs there that I would love to have, but they don't adopt out of the area. :(

Yeah, its cause they want to be able to do home visits and things, and they worry about what would happen to dogs that people can no longer keep if they are far away. I don't really blame them for their paranoia, we've had quite a few people dump our dogs at shelters instead of bringing them back to us. Luckily they all wear a metal FOHA tag on the collar. That's helped recover many a dog.

I do understand, though some times it bugs me if I see a dog that would fit amazingly into my household, and there's no chance because of location. Plus, there's only so many people in an area that are going to want dogs...
I like how my local no-kill does it, they only adopt to the local area, but if an ideal home comes along, they make exceptions. :)

Xander is GORGEOUS! If I could have another dog right now, I wouldn't mind taking him home.

Xander looks like maybe he's got some Mal or Husky in the mix. Beautiful boy. Lacey's face is total sweetness . . . And Swoosie . . . well, she's just a beauty any way you look at her.
