I hope this is remembered 4eva. I got Poley when he was 1 and he iz now 5. He iz a Golden Cocker Spaniel and his birthday is 5 dayz after mine. Seven months ago, dad bought a house with his girlfriend but after 3 months they broke up and we moved again. We are renting now and and our backyard doesnt have a fence. We made a fence 4 Poley so that he had room to run around in because if he was free, he would run off. Everyday since we have been living here he howels everytime he sees someone leave or when he thinks no1 is home. Every1 on our street can hear him and they have all complained to the council about it and he gave me 2 weeks to find a way to keep him quiet. I have done everything i can think of to keep him quiet including sneaking out of the house and taking a different way to skool. Today the council guy came around and said i have to get rid of him and that i had no choice. I asked if getting another dog would help but he said the other dog would just copy him and then there would be 2 dogs howling. I now have 3 or 4 dayz to find a new home 4 him or i get him put down :( I'm trying to find a new home 4 him but its not working very well. Tonight i'm going to put an add on the radio to see if i get any replies but i think he iz gonna have to end up being put down, I'll have no choise. I'm neva going to forget Poley and all my friends love him just as much as i do, they are all helping me and some have even asked there parents if they can keep him but that would just be putting the problem somewhere else. I always thought i would have Poley 4 eva but thats not gonna happen. Im going to make the best out of the rest of the time i have left with him but its going to be so sad saying goodbye to him :( I luv him so much

Poochie, contact the humane society, or the ASPCA or whatever kind of animal rescue agency you have in Australia and get them to help you; and do it today.

Would they make someone get rid of a child that cried?

I agree with you, if the ASPCA can't help you, then atleast surrender him to the humane society and they can find him a new home. It's alot better than putting a healthy creature down.
And no Renee, they wouldn't put a crying child down that's the sad thing. i wish more people realised that dogs are like children to people... Well most people

A lady who has a Golden Cocker Spaniel, the same as Poley except a female, wants to take him for me. She lives in the same town as me so i will beable to see him wheneva i want. The lady is also thinking about breeding Poley with her dog and i get first pick of the litter. Thankyou so much for your help and support u guyz, Poley and i appreciate it :)

I'm so happy you were able to find a home for Poley and the possibility of a new puppy one day.

Im glad you found someone to take Poley. It's sad that the council forced you to either get rid of him or put him down.. I agree.. I treat my pups like they are my children, people think i'm crazy but it's kind of the same..

they get their shots like babies do, we clean up after them, play with them, they cry and get hurt just like we do.. some people are just mean and ignorant!

but at least you can visit Poley! and know that Poley will be well taken care of! :D

Poochie: Not to sound harsh, but WHY IN THE WORLD would you want this woman to BREED your dog to hers and you get first pick of the litter when you obviously shouldn't have a dog at where you're living? I'm all one for the "good outcome" of finding a home for a dog, but this doesn't sound good to me. Who needs to "breeding" mixed breed dogs in the first place when they're doing it themselves, without the help of humans, and landing themselves in shelters only to be euthanized? You sound young. I hope you can learn from this. Please, the pet overpopulation needs to be curbed and it takes one person at a time to do it.

Congratulations on finding Poley a home. I probably misunderstood that when you said Golden Cocker Spaniel, you meant the buff color, and not golden retriever mix. Anywho, sure glad there's a happy ending!
