These came out great! And really, I find it a lot easier to fix underexposed shots than overexposed shots. I'm still learning how to get framing and exposure right in camera, so I probably adjust the exposure on 80% of the pictures I take

So much better! Thanks! :D Could you possibly do this one, too?!:

Thanks! I've only used the camera a handful of times, so I'm definitely still learning. I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with this! Saturday I was adjusting shutter speed and ISO like nobody's business, taking pictures of the same things trying to see just what looked good. I felt like a total dork.

    Like this:

SAME CLASS, literally taken two seconds apart... this was kind of shaded because of the bleachers. So bummed it came out kinda dark (I need to learn how to use edit tools)

I love the 2nd to last of them all zooming around, so cute.

And don't worry about it, it's an adjustment for sure. When I got my new camera I made myself only use it on manual, and I basically just spent a lot of time in my yard doing the above (tinkering around taking a lot of bad photos). I also would set it on auto, take a picture, and then look at the info for the picture to see what the camera had set and get a feel for it. One day it just finally clicked in my mind how it all worked together. Although I'm hardly an expert still!

I didn't start messing with manual until several months after I got my hands on a DSLR... and I definitely didn't touch ISO until fairly recently!! So you're pretty well on your way, soon you'll have to give me tips :D

It just takes some getting used to! For the longest time I just couldn't figure out if I needed to, say, bump up the aperture... or turn the shutter speed down a few stops. Or raise the ISO. Or a combination of any of the three.

I still can't do it, so when in a hurry I just let myself underexpose a bit and try to salvage with Photoshop or Lightroom :rofl1:

Anywho, I'm definitely not Zoom and I like her editing a lot better, but I already had Lightroom open so I gave it a shot!

Okay, okay, and because I'm the uber annoying person who wants to add a vignette to ALL the things

Thank you! I mean, thankfully I've had Danielle who's had this camera and taught me how to use it and gave me suggestions on where to start and how to fix issues and stuff, but it's still a huge learning curve.

    Oko! WE NEED MOAR PICTURES!

Just keep playing around with the settings and eventually you'll get the hang of it. I'm still figuring out the sweet spots for the D7000.
