I sit here now relaxing after two rough runs this morning. To make a long story short the dogs were pretty energetic this morning and I got the huskies run done ok really nothing wonderful Tracker seemed a bit off track no pun intended. But you'll have those days I guess. So I get the Chinooks set up and Noah is all ready to run pulling and going nutsfinally we're off and we're doing fine when all of a suddenI hear this clunk click noise and i then feel a bump and the three front dogs take off (their lead came unhooked) with out me. So im in the back with five dogs and three dogs running happily on through the trail not listening to me constantly screaming Break!!!I was at a of a rough patch and did'nt know what to do Heart would have to be my lead dog and he has had no training what so ever for that and i would only confuse him. So I grab a drag line from the sled hook it to his harness and proceed to call for Noah, Bright, and Rooney the three runaways.
It took me a good twenty minutes before i found all three dogs tangled up in a mess of bushes yelping and crying with cuts and scraps from branchs and Bright missing a bootie..... It took me anouther good hour and a halph to get them all back to the house treated sores with some ointment rubbed them down and groomed them like alwasy and let them go for play time in the field which they are out doing right now. Needless to say im sore their sore and im going to have to rework all the leads and harnesses so this doesent happen again because its never fun. i have to get back out there but i just figured I would share lol.
