I feel like I'm drowning.

I went over to visit with Missy and my parents, and I saw what we've been fearing since the first day of her diagnosis. Long story short, I have the weekend with my girl and then she'll be helped across the bridge. They have been carrying her around for the past week, and she's lost control of her bowels, and she hates it...
I'm completely heart broken and devistated. I have so many things I want to do with her this weekend... but I know there's not enough time or energy for it. She will be spoiled and loved. I can hardly stand to see her unhappy, it breaks my heart. I am going to miss her SO. MUCH. It's not fair :(:(:(:(:(:(:( I hate this
I'm so, so sorry! :( She is such a lucky dog to have known you and your family.

I wish you got more time with her. :( Try to enjoy the weekend.

I'm so sorry. =< In some ways it's very good to have some time left at the end... time to get in your hugs, kisses, take photos, take pawprints... but in other ways you have that time where you know it's coming and that's tough. HUGS for you and your family this weekend.

Have you guys tried Gabapentin? It may help her neuro issues.

I know it's helped a lot of dogs with neuro issues (hell, it helps me with neuro issues!!!)

If that's not an option (call the vet and ask) Then make the absolute best of your weekend with her. I'd feed her whatever the hell she wanted. Chocolate, Pizza, Tacos, and just make her last weekend the absolute best you can.

HUGE HUGS!!!!!

Thinking of you!

There is no good way. My Byron was just gone and I'd have killed for an extra couple days. But then again I am so glad I didn't have to make the decision.

DM can not be helped unless you go with a wheelchair.
the end result will always be paralysis and once, they loose their BM,it becomes really tough on the dog.
I am so very sorry you are going through this.
Thanks for letting her,go,with dignity.
PS:I lost my boy,in July, from this so only, know too well what you are going through.

Thanks. I'm sorry for your loss as well. It's one thing to read about it (and I had, before) but a totally different thing to experience it :( (((((((hugs back)))))

Updating for Brattina:

Missy had gone downhill and was worse when her dad woke up this morning. He has decided to let her go at 1:30 today, so she's over there spending final hours with her.
