OK, so I bought my pup the Canidae all life stages food and mixed it into his previous food, Nutro natural choice lamb & rice. The first day I mixed his food in with his old, he'd try and pick out the Canidae kibble and leave back the Nutro. Same thing goes for the next day when I went 50% of each food. Now he's eating entirely Canidae, but when I take the food out for him at his meal times, he just kind of looks or sniffs at it, then he bats the bowl letting the kibble fall out. He'd take a few bites of kibbles, then run off up the stairs after me. I fed him at 9am this morning, and I came out at 11am and 1pm to see how much he ate. There are still about a dozen kibble still left in his bowl. This is odd, because he use to never leave any food behind. I thought he liked it when he picked through his food for the Canidae kibble, but could I be wrong, and he actually doesn't like the food?

Well, I'm feeding just a wee bit less. He gets about 3/4 of the cup a meal. And he only eats like.. a few kibbles! He looks healthy enough though. I should probably give him about 1/2 a cup.
He's a pretty active pup too. I usually try and give him at least 1, 1 hour walk a day, or even 2 if I don't have much time constraints. At 4months, he weights approx. at 35lbs.

You can probably give half as much canidae as the old food.
So, if you want to give 1/2 of each and your dog was eating 2 cups a day, give 1 cup of the old food and 1/2 cup of canidae everyday.
If he really doesn't eat, you can try adding some raw egg, cottage cheese etc. My husband adds a bit of milk and they totally wolf their food down...

He's a lab x husky. I trim it down to 20 - 30mins when it's too hot. He doesn't even seem that tired after we finish our walk, just thirsty. He'll even still want to play fetch or go inside to run around after also.
Is milk good for all dogs? I remember reading somewhere, and my parents telling me, that milk isn't good for a puppy's after they're finished being milk-fed by their mother... but on the other hand, my parents don't know much about dogs

Don't give milk, but you can try a little bit of good quality natural plain yogurt or cottage cheese.
I realize that your pup may not act tired after the walks, but walks that are that long are hard on the growing joints and bones of your pup. It is best if they can excercise themselves freely until around a year or so. You can still practice leash walking and training, but small 15 minute sessions are best for a young pup!

Don't worry about it, I am sure no damage has been done, but even though puppies have a ton of energy, they should be allowed to dispense it at their own discretion LOL!! Do you have a back yard that you can safley turn him loose in to run and play with your supervision? This is probably better than leash walking at this age. Don't forget to still practice leash training though.
