Probably for ART UNLEASHED 2016 unless i come up with something else. Fired to cone 10...no cracks, and the cork fits just right.

Due to a "change of format" the Greater Kansas City Humane Society has made to their Art Unleashed I have decided to pull my piece from their auction. This is done with a heavy heart, but I protest the "new format" and I will leave it at that. When i picked it up this morning I told the vet if in the future they choose to change it back to the way it was, I will come back. So this piece is now headed for KC PET PROJECT and they may sell it or do what they wish to help their shelter. In the end it really doesn't' matter where it goes, as long as the purpose of changing even a little misery is accomplished. I was contacted by my friend who is the high up of KC PET PROJECT and let her know she could have it, and she said they would be more than glad for my donation.
I set one month aside, usually February to make something toward the greater good. I put my heart into it, and try to put out the best message I can, not only to help the never ending stream of need, but also to show appreciation for the volunteers that do all the footwork. I have never donated just an extra piece i had laying around. Heavens willing next year I will make another piece and send it to KCPP. After 15 years without missing one auction, it's a shame to have to walk away like this. I still highly value all of GKCHS efforts, and their not for profit clinic is priceless. I hope they do well with their auction this year.

Sorry to hear things changed in the format that you felt the need to take back your piece from the auction.

THis was sold at a silent auction for KC PET PROJECT. I have no idea what it sold for, since i did not attend, but i wish i did. If Art Unleashed goes back to their old format i will more than happily donate to their next auction. If they do not, I will donate to KC PET PROJECT. I made two labrador busts for a friend in trade for dog food for CHristmas. I made two because you never know if something will happen to one during the firing process Both fired fine according to KC CLAY GUILD. I missed the firing date at Red Star so I never was able to see them through that process. I have been informed that both did fine, and the President of KC CLAY GUILD says that she will let her husband choose between the two. THis was a memorial to his LAb Sampson who passed away this year. THe second bust, which ever one he does not choose, will probably be this year's donation, unless i come up with something else. https://goo.gl/photos/EF5uJsPyE2nGuTev5
