I wonder how many time need poultry to get salmonela

I don't think there's a problem if the crude meat is eated in the instant, but if it stay too much hours autside could get salmonela.

dalmatians can have a breed specific inherited metabolic defect which prevents them from processing protein like other dogs - and causes formation of sediment in the urine, which can form life threatening stones in their bladder (urate urolithiasis, very different from oxalate or struvite crystals or stones).

research has shown that animals affected by this genetic problem do much better on an overall low-protein diet, with protein sources such as eggs, cheese, and milk products rather than meat.

My dogs' meat is frozen and then thawed before they eat it. They eat outside if it's nice out. That way all I have to do is clean out their bowls instead of mop a floor since they tend to get their meat out of the bowl to eat it on the ground.

I know many people think feeding a dog raw meat is disgusting. I have an older sister who refuses to hand 'em raw. She once had to make them some fish (and seeing as she hates fish--me too :p)...let's say she didn't enjoy the experience, LOL :D. I'm a vegetarian, but handing my dogs pieces of raw animal doesn't bother me a bit.

Is brocoli bad for dogs? I only ask between Misha adores it - that and cauliflower. We don't feed her much - it is like a treat - but it out strips cheese in her books. But I would hate to be feeding her anything if it causes problems I can't see?

Broccoli isn't bad for dogs. My girls generally prefer vegetables like carrots over broccoli, but sometimes I can hide it in with something else and they'll eat it. My Lab likes it.

if you feed the broccoli cooked/steamed rather than raw, there shouldn't be a gas problem. the same goes for all cabbage type veggies. :)

My boyfriend tried to be vegetarian but he thought about how can he be vegetarian when his dogs are still eating meat. So I guess He concluded that he will still eat meat but will cut down.

Papaya eating dogs

Feeding dogs papaya is wierd? I used to have a German Shepard that would eat the fruit that fell from our papaya trees, it also used to dig up our potatoes and eat them.

Personaly, I feed my dog plenty of raw meat and bones as well as 2 times a week cow stomaches which I am given from our local slaughter house. This replaces the equivelent, the stomache from a hunted animal in the wild, which contains valuable vitamins and minerals.
