I've been lurking around for months now, just been a little intimidated to post. Now we have a pup of our own again, so I figured I'd take the leap and introduce myself.
My name is Claudia, I'm 27, currently living in Washington state. My husband is in the Navy. When I lived in California a few years back I did some rescue work, mostly fostering cats and a couple of dogs. I went to veterinary school for a year, but ended up leaving due to financial hardship (man do I regret that now). We had been dog-less for around 4 years after our beloved purebred Shih-tzu was stolen out of my dad's house.
Now that we're settled in Washington, we decided to take on another member of the family. His name is Maximus (Max for short), he is a labrador mix, and a cutie mutt at that. He was born to a rescued bitch in a foster home. The little guy was in bad shape by 5 weeks, a bit underweight and just really lethargic, so we decided to rescue him from the current caretaker. He's been with us for a week, and doing great! He is incredibly smart and feisty.
I hope to get to meet some cool people, and share doggie stories as I re-learn to live with an active puppy
