New puppy mom with some questions

hello, my new baby is the pup in my avatar. He's a 8 week old scottish terreir named Fergus. I've had him for 5 days now and everything has been going surprisingly well. Only 3 accidents so far.
However, my question is this. How common is diarrhea in puppies.Fergus was fine the first few days when he pooped then yesterday he had semi-runny poops. it would start out runny the be solid towards the end. Is this noraml and what causes runny poop?

A change in food could trigger it.

There are a whole variety of things that could cause diarrhea. Has he been checked for worms? Stress. Food. Eating something he shouldn't have. Other illnesses.

Canned pumpkin (not pie filling) is a good way to get the bowels balanced out for both diarrhea and constipation.

I ahve a question for you Saje on this topic.....

My pup will go #2 and then run somewhere else and go again....is she constipated?

I had read that you want to pop a treat in your pups mouth as they "do the deed" I think I may have freaked her out by interupting her and cause this behavior...What do you think?
