I got a phone call a few days ago about a retired racer needing a new home. I CANNOT take on a new foster not right now not and especially not this time of year. So I contacted my friend Grace and asked if she would be willing to foster the dog and I would pay its fees. So she agreed and I knew it would go well as Grace is a dog trainer and knows what she is doing. So today i went out to the owner of the dogs house. It is a 7 year old black and tan female Alaskan Husky named Nails. She isn't house broken whatsoever and needs alot of work but Grace is confident. She is missing one of he toes on her fron right paw due to a trap we were told. She is very friendly and loves attention and she needs alot of TLC. She is rough raised and so it will take her longer to become a "pet" which is what she has been raised not to be.

Grace and I were talking and we're thinking maybe this time next year she will be ready for a real home. We shall see.

Wow. Good for you guys! That sounds like a lot of work. You and Grace must be kindred spirits. :D

For some reason when you said racer I thought 'greyhound' that's how dumb I am. I mean it's not like I don't know you have sled dogs or live in that kind of community  :p

I give you both credit for what you're doing. I truly hope all works out and she'll eventually be able to go to a good home.
