Oh - sorry you guys..... I meant to write back on here and obviously never did.

Yes, we decided on Buddy and Cassie. I really like the name for her and hope that "Buddy" isn't too common of a "dog" name. I would have liked to pick a cute pair of names like the great suggestions and pairs I found on the internet but like I said, it was more important to us to find names that fit them.

Cassie is already starting to come to her name. Buddy, on the otherhand, is going to be our little defiant guy. He just gives you this look like "and just who do you think you are?!?!". They are DEFINITELY getting more comfortable around the house and making it there own, that's for sure. They start puppy school next Thursday. I wish I could get in sooner, but, that was the first one this month.

I have a question, and not sure if I should start a new thread with this or not.... We have had some temps in the negative numbers (it was -2 last night and this morning, and with winds, feels much colder. We still have snow on the ground too. That's not going to go anywhere for a loooooong time. The puppies get so cold when we let them out - Cassie especially since she doesn't have as much fat on her. One day Buddy sat down and started to cry, I think because his feet were so cold. They weren't even out there for that long. They were both so cold. Poor babies. I've read different stuff on the internet about this, but wondering if you guys thought I should get them booties and sweaters??

By the way, your puggy is so cute!

They are precious! Their size difference really shows up in the pics where they are snuggled in the dogbed together!:)

With the temps you get outside I'd say sweaters & booties are a definite necessity.

I really don't think pups that age would take to booties...would take their mind off of what they're out for... Clear off a sheltered area, and do quick potties !!! BTW... Chip's Grand=daddy was Buddy . Good luck!! Also, as from last night's news, the #1 California fashion dog is now the puggle .

I'm trying to get them to go potty a bit quicker, and also take them out separately. They end up distracting each other sometimes. If it weren't so cold, it would be ok, because they do end up eventually doing their business. It just pulls at my heart to see them shiver and cry.

I saw the puggle clip on our news here too. Honestly, I have been looking to get a dog for so long that I researched every pure and mix breed that I could. It finally got to the point that I loved how the puggles looked so that made my decision for me. I had a beagle/corgi mix as a kid named Jughead. I loved him so much that I new I wanted a dog that would at least remind me of him. These puppies, at least Buddy, remind me a lot of him already.

Definitely, and they unfortunately are way overloaded already. My current dog is a rescue that was abused. I got her when she was 7 months old and the poor thing is still traumatized by it. She's a little scared depressed dog that has never snapped out of it.

I wanted to get a puppy this time so that I made sure I knew the background and could raise it right. I also thought that it may bring Midget (my other dog) out of her shell a bit more.

She is coming around slowly. The pups are a bit rowdy for her. My three year old cat is intrigued by them - at a distance.

Thanks so much. One of my friends has a Pug also. He's the sweetest thing. It's funny with these two puppies that Cassie has more of a pug face and Buddy, although you can see Pug in his face - has a bit more of the beagle in him.

They are awesome, but we have learned by now some of the downfalls of having two puppies at the same time, and littermates at that. We've had to seperate them a bit for various reasons. They are still doing quite well though. Puppy classes start on thursday and I can't wait!
