Our new puppy was labeled as a shepherd mix. I see the shepherd features and traits but was wondering what else she could be. This is just for fun.

-Black with a white patch on her chest and some random white hairs on her paws.
-Tan color behind her ears and it's starting to spread in other areas as she grows.
-5 months and 25lbs.
-Body is long and lean right now.
-Very mellow and seems to have an old soul.
-Not a goofy puppy but very mature.
-Prey drive and can almost catch a rabbit on our 2 acre property.
-Great nose so I'm hoping she can do some K9 nose work in the future.
-Digs a bit and will find acorns or rocks. Not sure if it was a fluke or she smelled them.
-Hops through low bushes while chasing lizards(really cute to watch)
-Great hearing

When she sits her body reminds me of a cat the way her back curves.

Thanks for the replies. When I do Google searches there are a couple of dogs who look exactly like her and the descriptions where shepherd/lab. I wish the DNA testing was accurate. I would love to find out. The unknown is killing me.
It's funny because my husband is not fond of shepherds or PB so I just tell him she is mixed with lab and show him the pictures.

She actually seems a bit on the small side to be mixed with any of the breeds mentioned. How common are Basenjis in the area she's from? I think the size would be about right, and her face looks a little Basenji-ish. I agree with the others on one thing- she's adorable.

I'm so confused. She looks like many different breed/mixes I pull up. I just looked at Kelpies and she looks very close. I guess as she gets older, her size will help a lot. She does seem small for a shepherd mix at this age but who knows. Thanks for everyone's input. I'm so glad to be here.

A hint- think about what breeds are more common in the area she's from.

Honestly, most likely she is a Shepherd mix. Just mixed with something smaller than the breeds mentioned. It's also pretty likely she's mixed with more than two breeds. In which case, one parent could be GSD/Lab mix, and the other parent a mix of smaller breeds.

^^That. My German Shepherd mix was probably around that size at 5 months. She was around 40lbs full grown.
