Hey guys sorry for poofing it's been a crazy couple of days! Also I usually post from my cell but multiple drops have made typing on it almost impossible now… But that's a different story.

Any way what you want to know is Yoshi is OK. She came home today with instructions to be calm for about a week and to keep a close eye on her.

I'm lucky that I know her so well because she definitely let me know something was wrong. We were at the lake for the 4th of July with my grandparents. We had gotten then pretty early and after the fireworks were getting ready to eat. Yoshi had been doing great and had tons of kids who came over and asked to pet her so she was in her element, getting attention from little people. After a while they all went back to their family and we started getting our food.

She came over and stood in front of me and stared at me. When she saw she had my attention she went to my dad, who always gives her a treat, and got a hot dog chunk and walked back over too me, made sure I was watching again and spit it out. Yoshi is one of the dogs that will eat without stopping. She'll eat until she is pooping and keep eating while pooping. She never turns down food. Ever. Also it was exactly what she did when she bloated last time. I first kind of brushed it off because I thought she was picking it up and dropping it to lay down and eat it but she repeatedly got my attention picked up the food and spit it out while staring at me.

After about the third time I told my dad something was wrong with Yoshi and we had to leave. So we got everything packed up and while we were on the way home her stomach full on bloated up. I came home and posted. I had to come by the house to grab some money and we drove the hour to the vets that helped Yoshi before. The lady who worked with us last time was out of town so I had to get one of the other vets.

We were in there talking and she asked 'do you want us to use the fluids?' I asked her what she meant and she said 'we can use fluids or not use fluids it's more expensive to use them though'. I asked her what they did and she said 'It can help keep her from going into shock when we get the tube into her'. I was shocked because I figured something like this was just necessary and she said she could do it without fluids if I didn't want to pay that much. So I told them to give me Yoshi back.

We ended up driving to the emergency vet and they were able to get all the gas released. We were lucky in the fact that even though her stomach was huge it didn't twist. They kept her the rest of that night and I ended up staying at a friends house about 10 minutes away. She stayed there Thursday too and I came home but didn't sleep much I didn't post then because I was just so tired I don't think any posts would have made sense. I've had Yoshi 7 years and 2 days is the longest we've ever been apart so it was pretty rough.

They said there doesn't look like any permanent damage and to keep an eye on her and keep her calm. It's been kind of hard because 1. she's not really a calm dog and 2. she was excited to get home so I guess I kind of need calm vibes now because this is going to be a long week. We were going to go fishing this weekend and do some geocaching but instead I think it's going to be a lazy movie weekend spent on the couch.

Anyway I'm sorry it took so long to get on here and report back but Yoshi is ok and extremely thankful for Chaz vibes!

Such a relief to read that! I'd be such a nervous wreck if Juno bloated. More vibes that she obeys doctor's orders and stays calm lol.

That is good news! I've been checking this thread every day and dreading what I might find. I'm so very happy she's okay. Good luck with the hard part of keeping her resting a lot. That can be difficult.

Thank you all of you!

I forgot we were doing my dad's birthday today. I put Yoshi in her crate while I was gone so I think she was pretty calm. She'll have bursts where she gets super excited and wanting to play but I can usually sidetrack her with cuddles. I can tell this is going to be a long week >.<

I'm really glad she did too. I'm really glad she kept doing it because I thought it was her just finding a place to eat. I really needed to see her do it a few times to know she was rejecting food before I understood.
