I just saw this. I am so sorry Stacy, you really do deserve a break! You have had more than your share of bad things.

I'm sending lots of hugs, prayers and healing vibes.

Such a very bad year for Chaz dogs!

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers, y'all. :) As for my fair share of bad luck, it does seem that way at times, but then I look around at what many of y'all are going through and dealing with, and my issues/problems seem small in comparison.

As for Baby, well, he's proving to be a typical APBT. He attempted zoomies tonight when we went outside for his potty break. Yes, zoomies. O_O. Poor thing tried to take off running, stumbled and rolled once, rebounded and ran (like a drunken frat boy) about 10 yards before doing a face plant. He then got to his feet and turned and looked at me with that wonderful bully smile (complete with droopy right side). Let's just say I believe my heart stopped at least once during this, but what's a girl to do? Lol. I'm trying to avoid collars right now, and I have no earthly idea where a harness might be (although I see a trip to buy one in my immediate future ;) ).

He was also able to eat a kibble mash today. I soaked his kibble in hot water, let it completely cool, mashed it up with my hands, and added a jar of ham baby food and more water. He thought it was Christmas! He had a hard time with the last bit of more solid texture bits, but I just added more water so he could lap it down. He's still having issues chewing and drinking plain water. But if any dog can recover, it's Simple Dog. :D

Well...it sounds like he feels pretty darn good. Here are a bunch of vibes coming that he'll continue to get better and better. Does the vet know for sure what it is? I do hope he'll be okay. (((hugs))) and a special cookie for the lad from me.

I agree with the tick question BUT it sounds like you have been to the vet?

Our little dog Sammy had 3 days of "hospital" after his tick - we could not find it at all - vet nurse looked deep down in the ear and there it was!

He had "frozen" left eyelids for weeks after so it was constant application of Saline to keep the eye moist.

Even if ticks are uncommon in your area may be worth looking for.

Heaps of get well vibes coming your way - Good Luck

We scoured him for ticks and came up with nothing. Also, he's on Advantix/Frontline Plus year round.

Since so many diagnoses have such similar symptoms, it's been a game of deduction. He's on ear drops in case it was a yeast/bacterial infection causing vestibular issues. One thing that's pointing towards an actual stroke is the nystagmus, as it's vertical versus horizontal. The facial paralysis is also pointing to stroke.

He had a better day spirit wise, but worse day eating/drinking wise (seemed to have to exert more effort to slurp/luck his food down...it took him almost twenty minutes with me having to constantly clean out the side of his mouth (paralyzed side).

But he and Carson sure did do some snuggling! They are quite the pair....

Snuggling ought to be good medicine. Vibes for steady improvement.

Glad he's staying stable. That's a pic to treasure. Hugs & love from a child surely is good medicine.
