We recently lost Walter's harness while traveling so we're looking to buy a new one. Walter hates wearing a harness only slightly less than walking with a leash attached to his collar. In his perfect world, he'd be naked all the time. I'm hoping to find a harness that is easy for him to tolerate. What he doesn't like is when straps are close to his armpits, even if they are padded and don't chafe. Does anyone have a recommendation for me? He had a Freedom no-pull harness that he tolerated, but I was hoping for some other ideas.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm a big fan of Premier/Pet Safe's Sure Fit harness. The last few years of his life, Mick had to wear a harness anytime he was on a leash, and it didn't rub him. Even when we left it on him 24/7 to make it easier for our friends to take him out when we went away.

Ditto. I love ours, it's super crazy adjustable in like a bajillion points so you can get it to fit even awkwardly shaped/sized dogs.

I love my Walkeez harnesses but they are not very adjustable *at all*. They're soft and light though.

If you want something that won't rub armpits, I wouldn't recommend the Hurtta Y harness (unless you can go try it on to be sure). They are only adjustable around the belly and because the top of them is just an "x", they tend to sit a little higher up, at least on my dogs. Ned has both the above Hurtta and also the nylon Kong harness with the traffic handle and because the Kong's piece along the back is a little longer, it doesn't come anywhere close to his armpits.

Ohh yeah, the hurrta harnesses are real nice quality.

I do have one sitting around, don't know if it would fit your dog, or if you're even interested. But if you are, I'd sell it for $15 shipped. It's a BIT too for Jackson. His girth is exactly 19". It fits but the chest area is a bit too loose for my liking.

Hurrta Harness size 22" (size 55 in European size). It's 19-22" girth.

I'm really thinking about the ComfortFlex and Walkeez. I really like the fleece lining.

I love Puppias for the bostons, but Walter is so furry.

Thank you all for the suggestions!
