Today I went to the store and I decided to let Mikey run with me (I was on my bike) and he was really good. I left Mav and Nanook in the backyard like usual. And when I came home Mav was GONE. 
So I call the shelter. Nothing. And I look out the window and our ex-landlord is pulling up in the driveway. He sees me in the window and gives me a long look and backs out.
I get on my bike and ride all over. But then I see my ex-landlord driving away from the shelter. And I"m getting worried because we did not part on wonderful terms and I'm thinking maybe he caught mav (that would be SOOO tough) and dropped him off there instead of calling.
So I ride over to the shelter where they all know me and my dogs of course and they are kind of laughing at me riding around in the rain looking for my giant dog. They say they haven't had any calls but to try Agar street cuz that's where they got calls the last time he jumped the fence.
So I'm riding there and here and there and... I ask a bunch of people but only one has seen him. Apparently he stopped to dig somewhere. So I decide to go back to the shelter and see if they had any calls yet. Nothing. i call steve and he's like "guess who I found" Of course mav was playing at home with his two old gf's from my landlords house. So we call him and he picks up his dogs and by the time I get there they are all gone and all I see is an exhausted doggy. LOL But happy.
