Natural Balance making me feel guilty

My 2 year old adopted dog was supposed to have food allergies when I adopted her, but my vet said that he doubted it. Anyway, I decided to feed her foods that were designed not to trigger many common allergies. I also wanted a very good food to keep her healthy.

I started her on Natures Recipe Lamb and Rice, which she liked. I felt that possibly a more expensive food would be better, so I decided to experiment with some of the premium foods after a week or two. The next one was Blue Buffalo Lamb and Brown Rice, but she had not interest in eating at all. An A-B test with Natures Recipe in one bowl and the Blue Buffalo in a bowl next to it, had her eating the Natures Recipe every time and not even touching the Blue Buffalo. Then I tried Solid Gold Hunden Flocken Lamb and Rice. She ate this as only a last resort, when she saw that she wasn't going to get anything else.

Finally I read some posts on Natural Balance and picked up some Allergy Formula Venison and Brown Rice. I dumped it in her dish and she gobbled it down. I now mix a very small amount ( 2 tablespoons) of Natural Balance canned in with it in the morning to change the flavor and this way I can change the canned flavor every couple of weeks so she won't get bored. Her coat and digestion are perfect. The Vet said on her checkup the other day that she had gained 4 pounds since I have had her despite 3 miles of walking every day, so I decided to cut her food back to a max of 2 cups a day from about 2 3/4 ( she now weighs 42 pounds) . Now my problem is that she licks and licks and licks the bowl after she eats, and looks at me like I am starving her to death. Even when I give her the kibble plain at the end of the day for her second meal, she does the same thing. I feel guilty in not giving her some more, which was never an issue with the other brands that I had fed her..... I guess the Natural Balance is just too good !! ;) Anyway, 2 cups is what she gets until the scale reading drops.

I'm glad the Natural Balance is working out so well. My boys have beautiful coats from it.
