Narrowing it down....

I have been working so hard to find just the right dog for my Penny late this year when her health testing and AKC CH title are finished.

It has taken some looking to find a dog who will offset her faults, complement her virtues, and who has the excellent elbow background I need for her.

I've narrowed it down to a couple of very nice dogs, and at this time, this guy is leading the race.

I need to see him, and put my hands on him before I make a final decision, but I've seen his father, his grand father, and many of the dogs on both sides of his pedigree.

I just got some photos of him last night, and I am SMITTEN with this guy. :D

Enjoy.....

Giny, his eye shape is one thing on my shopping list. My bitch's eye is a bit large and too round, and there is a lot of this behind her on her dam's side through the dam's sire. He should help with eye shape.

Oohhh... he definately looks like a good match for her! They both, from what i can see, compliment each other wonderfully and will make such a lovely litter! :)

Good looking sire. I would think the two of them would have some pretty awesome offspring. Looks like a match made in heaven. lol

Can you personally visit each sire ??? All look good. To me it would be gut feeling .... contracts etc..... Do the best for your gal and you ! If they want fee rather than pick of litter I'd question it. There are too many sires that are out for $$$ rather than continuing a good line.

well I can tell you one thing.

NO ONE but me is getting the pick of ANY litter I breed. That is the reason I'm breeding! :D

Stud fees are just part of the process. For a nice Rottweiler who is producing nicely, you can expect to pay the cost of a good show puppy. $1,000 to $2,000, with about a thousand being the norm.

This is just an expense that goes with breeding.

And yes, there are very few circumstances under which I would use a dog I have not had my hands on. There ARE a few people that I trust well enough that if they had evaluated the dog personally I would take their word for it. Penny's breeder is one of them.

I'm just so ecstatic that I've found such a gorgeous boy with an incredible show record and flawless health testing background.

I can't wait until it's time!!!

:D
