Sorry, no pictures. Well, I did get pictures of the scenery on the way down, but we forgot the camera in the van when I showed.
But, Marq and I showed in Novice Senior in AKC jr showmanship on Sunday in Ft Wayne, IN. Before I ever showed my mom and walked around and bought Marq a new show lead. He was on a show choke before, but now he's on a nylon choke. I must say, I think we BOTH like the nylon ALOT better. And, because it was a nylon, I could now actually take his lead off while showing him in the ring. I practices this before we went in the ring and felt pretty comfortable.
There were three in my class. Sometimes it is really hard to find competition in novice senior, so this was my chance to get another win towards moving up to open. Well.. I went to take the leash off and screwed up. That cost me my win. My mom told me that the judge was really eyeing me and she probably would have given the class to me.. but, after I screwed up so badly with the leash removal, she had to give it to the next best girl.
Which, isn't such a huge dissapointment. I congratulated her afterwards and later learned that was her first win. She was really nice, and really excited to be able to go into the BJH ring. So I was happy for her. I even stayed to watch her show in hte BJH ring. She lives within 1 1/2 hours of me, so I think we'll be seeing each other at shows. I hope so! She's the kidn of person you like to compete against! Friendly and not arrogant, like you see far too many jrs now-a-days.
So, no win.. but Marq and I showed well other than that. We had fun, and I might have made a new showing friend that I will hope to see at future shows.
