Abner had a small abscess in his armpit. Probably because he likes to torment our wee little black cat and she probably took a swipe at him. (he does the little brother move of 'I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you')

He got an antibiotic shot and we're keeping it clean with betadine. It's already much, much smaller. (it had already popped...which is just gross)

Pretty good though, I've had cats since I was four and this was my first ever abscess:p

Poor abner.
Just wondering if he had to get his armpit shaved to keep the wound clean. LOL such a fluffy cat with a shaved armpit would look rather funny(well in my imagination anyway)
Great photos, were they professionally done?

No, I took them:) He's a very patient picture subject, so will just sit there while you do whatever.

He did have his armpit shaved, but he's currently in somewhat of a lion cut (shaved body..full head, mane and legs) so you can't tell in pics. He is in that cut because I had to shave out a mat on his back and he did look silly. This way it all grows out at the same time.

wow, my cat hates me taking her photo, she will be looking so cute then i take out my camera and she stops doing it. :)
I hope abner isn't too cold with no hair on his body, good idea about shaving it all off though.

He is strictly indoors, so he has plenty of blankets and beds to choose from:) And his hair grows ridiculously fast. He's also not shaved to the skin, so he does have some coat:)

His wound is completely healed now:)
