As if the Steelers getting blasted by the Pats wasn't bad enough....we had sub-zero temps again, so I once again had the pleasure of nocturnal Hammie. He was awake.....alas, bedtime came (at the last 5 mins. of the game to spare me any more trauma). He curled up so sweetly beside me.....Addie with Dave, as per our big plan. AND THEN HE NEVER SLEPT. I gave him a chew toy......NOPE. When he wasn't pacing (yep, took off the collar and all the jingling...but still heard him loud and clear) he was plopping, pouncing, standing over my head. He just didn't want me sleeping. I got up at 1 A.M, turned on the light......and he was then happy and ready to snuggle beside me. He just can't rest in the house at night.....PANTING constantly. Gave him water....even tho I started out determined to not do that after 9 (I tried Renee) I discovered that as long as we are all together, both dogs are fine and dandy (cept we have no room to sleep on the bed) I am now more eager for warmer weather than the usual (as I watch it snowing again outside). Now, I understand the pack theory.......but we have two big cranky alphas.........devoid of sleep.....one sadly off to work, the other walking around in a haze (had 3 of Renee's toddy recipe last night...should have had more) Good thing I have leftover shrimp alfredo. As I look at Ham's big head......I pet him, but I secretly think he is nuts. Oh yeah...........to make life even more interesting....just when I thought things might settle down last night.......the cat decided to jump onto the bed. What the heck was she thinking............I think you can imagine how that went. That's my vent.......cause I also HATE Mondays. aahhhhhh, feeling a bit better...............is it April yet?????

With April you get Mud, Debi! :D

Hammie doesn't seem to like it when everyone isn't together. Typical German Shepherd - or any good guardian for that matter. They just aren't satisfied until everything is where it is supposed to be.

He's also probably making his rounds at night - he probably does it all the time when he's outside.

If it's any consolation, he'll enjoy sleep time at night when he's more grown up. Have you ever met a teenager that wasn't nocturnal?

Ah, the Game. Charley decided he really, REALLY wanted spaghetti, but I haven't been grocery shopping for about two weeks . . . so off to the store at the end of the third period of the NFC game. (THAT was a fun game to watch!) I got back just before half time and got started on spaghetti, so I only caught parts of the game up until midway through the fourth quarter.

If I were the Iggles, I'd be watching the game tapes from the Miami/Patriots game - over and over.

OH!!! I forgot the best  part!

Charley ate so many chocolate covered peanuts that he wasn't very hungry by the time the spaghetti was ready.

Guess we'll be having spaghetti tonight or tomorrow . . . lol!

As I continue my venting...lol............guess we'll be rooting for the Eagles, the home state and all that jazz....in the Superbowl. Picture this...Sat. AM, VERY early (we never sleep in..geez) the two of us sipping on our beloved coffee...hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, we turn to each other and say 'boy, the furnace just doesn't sound quite right'. yeah, ok....more coffee...it is afterall the luxury of a Sat., right?? Again....WOW..the furnace REALLY doesn't sound quite right. Dave decides to check it out..maybe the outside filter needs changed. (we have oil.......we buy karosine .and that isn't spelled right) WHAT THE HECK?????....a brass fitting split wide open and oil is spurting onto the ground! Now, a bit about my hubby........he would have rather his own blood be spurting from a vein than us losing the 'liquid gold' that now costs an arm and a leg. Since we were in the midst of the northeast storm.......LUCKILY, he had a new fitting in the garage...........but we lost approx. 100 gals. (he measured) yep...could have been worse. We could have lost it all...then had NO furnace..and NO fuel. To top it all off...........my washing machine broke. But, at least the plow on the tractor works like a dream, and I won't get stuck between my driveway and the road........which is infamous around here, and good for many laughs from the guys. (yeah...like my Taurus can match a 4 wheel drive truck?????) did I mention that I have leftover shrimp alfredo? I NEED IT. lol

Sounds like you need leftover shrimp Alfredo and a good bottle of white Bordeaux! :D

Dave sounds like Charley about the 'liquid gold' or is it now platinum?

100 gallons is a lot of fuel. If you have well water you'll need to check it to make sure the fuel doesn't leech into it from the groundwater. More fun . . .

Happy Monday!

Yep, got a well.......FUN. I only wonder if we arent' gonna be bombarded with 'oil smell' when the snow melts......afterall...it must have just seeped down under the house. BLAH..BLAH...BLAH. OK....it's almost Tues................................with a Monday over, life always seems better.

We are waiting for the well driller to come cause we want another well drilled. Life in the country.................tis a blast sometimes, is it not? LOL ( also realized my hubby has a water phobia.....needs 2 wells to feel comfortable. Do ya know what a drilled well costs??? LOL.......for the love of a man)

Does Dave have a big generator hidden in the woods somewhere? Or has he thought about that yet? :D

Really, though, a man who likes to be prepared has to be easier to cope with than one who likes to fly by the seat of his pants - living on the edge and all that. :D

a generator...that's next on the agenda probably. OH WAIT...the best part of my weekend........got a spider bite on my chest. YEP, I know a spider bite when I see one. Now..we don't have recluse spiders as a general rule...not to say one couldn't have been transported via produce or something wonderful......but just thinking something ICKY walked across my person is enough to send me to the ZONE. Gross..yep. Happy...NOPE. Nothing you can do for a spider bite..a bit of Neosporin (don't ever want an infection).

did I have a good weekend??............................NOPE. :p

(if anything falls off........I'll let you know) LOL

My, what a lovely place for a spider bite! Hope it doesn't swell - you could end up looking like a science-fiction vixen. Or this might have to transfer to the thread about implants. :D

heeheehee..Renee...my whole reason for this 'vent' was to have my spirits lifted......LOL, you indeed do that. I had a neighbor respond via email 'something about it sucking the fat out of me'.......HA! I told her...IF that was true, I would be putting insects all over my body. lol NOW, IF I get swelling.........I will be thinking of ways to put other spiders on certain areas. GEEZ.........how sick is this?? LOL I gotta go out into the snow to fetch my babes......they HAD to have a play session outside.....clean-up will be a blast. you sure it isn't JUNE yet????????????????? @#$%*

Debi, I'm only thankful I wasn't you. What else could go wrong! This conversation made my day.
