My Dogs dont like the pool

How do you get dogs interested in the pool? I have a huge inground pool, but i cant get the dogs to go in. Any ideas?

As you can see inthe video, Keanu, has no problem going near the pool, or even drinking out of it, but he wont get in it.

Note: We're in the middle of painting the house, which has the porch a mess.

It might help if you fashion something to enable them to gradually go in (sort of like a ramp or some temporary stairs). Going straight into deep water might be putting them off... Plus that way it is easy for them to get out and if they were to ever go in without you around there would be much less risk of them getting stuck and drowning.

I'm not sure what you mean. Its a diving pool, but we have also the shallow end. You know, with steps and all. I have taken Keanu in, but as soon as he cant toouch, he panics. Even if i'm holding him up in the shallow end. How would I teach him to trust me and that hes not gonna drowned?

You could try a life jacket maybe? Or throwing toys that are really valuable to him, or treats.

LOL. I tried the toy. I tried being in the pool and trying to coax him in. I however didnt know about the life vest idea. I didnt even know they sold them for dogs. Where would i purchase one, cause apparently i'm missing something, cause i've never seen one around?

I hope so, because out here in Phoenix it gets really hot and it would really benefit him on those hot days when I cant constantly wet him down so he can hang outside with me by the pool. Cant, as in I have my 3 year old nephew over in the pool.
