My dog, Charlie died

Well, the worst has happened. Charlie (1 yr. old golden retriever) was a dear, wonderful, crazy dog. He had personality plus and was absolutely beautiful.

He was hit by a car and took the full force of the hit in his head. It broke his jaw and he never really did regain consciousness. I think he was brain dead quickly after the accident.

He survived two days after the hit, but was convulsing and panting terribly unless he was totally out with pain medication. His eyes never did really follow anyone or thing.

My heart is broken, but I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Charlie's litter mate, Sam, is also heartbroken and is still looking for Charlie.
DH and I are giving lots of time to Sam. It helps us and him.
