It is finally time. I have waited MONTHS to be able to do this with him and I am SOOO excited. We now have the backpack, and little booties and everything else we need to go backpacking on the A.T. for the weekend. He seems to really like his pack, and behaves better with it on for some unknown reason.(he does really well otherwise but it seems like he has more purpose with it on)
The pack is really big looking but he can only carry about 10lbs if that. The smaller one down was too small so we had to go with the next size. I'm thinking of packing a few pillows or something to fill out the pockets for him and give him something soft to sleep on after a long day on the trail. Doesn't he look snazzy? :D

Aw, that's awesome! He knows he has a job now and is going to take it very seriously, that's probably why he's behaving better. I've thought about getting one of those for Sawyer and taking a long hike; haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks guys! :D I thought he looked happier, seemed more content when we got home after his walk, which was odd since it was roughly half the time we normally take since we got started too late :) My sweet boy. He's been walking around like the king of the castle since I told him it would just be me and him since Tim has to stay with the boys and Daisy is still too young :) I REALLY think he understands, since I told him to be nice or he just might not go and he has been an angel! (note to self, bribe doggie more often, lol)

That is so cool! He loves having a job and cooperating with you and he looks very dapper in his pack. LOL. I'm thinking the same thing for Lyric, now that he's a big boy, he can carry a little bit of weight on a hike. What fun.

No, he gets to carry his food, some water, his leash (for crossing roads if there are any to cross and getting from the parking lot to the trail) , a toy, and his treats. I'll be carrying the bulk of what we need for a weekend on the trail. :) (though, in the future that is a GREAT idea :D )

Oh, how wonderful! He looks adorable, and I swear he's deliberately posing for those pics.
