Well, Mustard was supposed to go an awesome home a week ago, but it (yet again) fell through. This poor dog, first he had a foster lined up that didn't work out, then an adoption that fell through, and then ANOTHER adoption that fell through. The first because they decided they couldn't handle two dogs, the second because not everyone in the household wanted a new dog. The third is the most heartbreaking... A dog experienced, pit bull experienced family with no other dogs (perfect for Mustard) and four kids (Mussy loves kids!) with a work schedule that meant he would hardly ever be home alone. Why didn't they take him?

The wife's STUPID sister convinced her that Mustard's "history" (or lack there of, basically) meant he was more likely to "snap one day" on their kids. :wall: The woman didn't really know what to believe, but with the seed of doubt sewn, felt that she couldn't put her kids at risk. I would NEVER place a dog with four kids of that dog wasn't sound as sound can be, which I told her, but nevertheless... He's still with me.

On the bright side, Ketchup has a new home! He's now named Rex and he's doing great! He plays fetch in the yard, goes for lots of walks, and dotes on their grandchildren.

Um so... the real point of this thread is to tell you guys that I still have Mustard, and... I.. um.... I'm not so sure I really want that to change???

Awww! What a face!

I know how frustrating it can be with potential adopters backing out... especially when you start to get attached to a dog.

Some things are just meant to be. I bet years down the road you'll thank your lucky stars those adoptions fell through...that is...if he stays with you. If you're in a position to keep him and you're in love, why not?

Get her on it!!!! I'm still not sure I should keep him. When I eventually move, I'll have to find a place that will let me rent with a corgi, a cat, and pit bull, and I don't know how that will go over...

I will so totally get him up to you, somehow, if you can swing it. :D

Another vote for keeping him!

Will you have a set date when you move, or will you have time to find a suitable place? What are the rental by-laws like where you live?

No set date for moving, will *probably* renew my lease in September here, with my landlords that are cool with all breeds of dogs. I would have time to find a place.

Right now my roomies and I just rent the top floor of a 2 flat from the people who own the house and live below us. We technically have a limit of 100 domestic animals in our lease. :p LOL So there are no immediate worries, it's more about where I would go in the future.

I would have lots of time to do things like get him his CGC, etc.

Is he good with small dogs? Does he show any type of dog reactivity or aggression?

Is he food/toy motivated?

Does he settle down well?

Can you tell me a little more about him??

By the way, whereabouts are you?

I want him sooooo badly and I'll talk to my mom again but I don't think she will agree :( She's adamantly against me having a 2nd dog while I live here...but I'll try.
