I brought the stray my mom took in home today for his weekly bath..we missed last week because everything has been just so crazy. i had to call her afterwards to tell her that he walked in the door..went straight to the bathroom...stepped into the tub and sat down with just the sweetest expression. Every time before i have had to lead him there, he was just such a gentleman. As i soaped him up good i got a sweet kiss on the cheek. His muscle tone is fabulous, i no longer feel gaunt rib bones or sharp hips..his coat is thick and healthy. Anyway i wanted to tell you that when i called mom i said he was just such a wonderful dog and she said Yes he is..he is very much a gentleman. I am so happy for them both, and impressed with his integrity..that is i think the right word for this. He is so calm...afterwards he had a nice romp with Vic who is grinning at having his buddy over :)

GG always calls him that. I was thinking while i rubbed the creme rinse in..(want him to feel real nice for mom) that she hasn't had a boy dog since our saint benard when i was little. Shaffer is a classy guy and point perfect for her. She couldn't do a Vic, he would drive her insane.....i don't know how but this is the most absolute match personality for my mom and when i told her maybe he was her last chance at a really good dog..i knew i was hoping more then knowing..wishing hard that it would be true. She deserves someone wonderful. HE is like an Abe Lincoln. Quiet and thoughtful..i don't know how to describe him. I don't think in all the kennels and years i have ever met a dog quite like this one.

Sounds like Mr. Shaffer is a perfect match for your mom. I'm so impressed how he waited in the tub for his bath. Too bad he can't give some lessons to our pets.
